Over 400 golfers are competing at the 1st Kadinvest Pro-Am International Golf Tournament which teed off on Wednesday, 28 March.
The competition, sponsored by Pinnacle Communications is offering 10 Million Naira in prize money in what promises to be the biggest assembly of the best Golfers in the West African sub-region.
The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai had revealed at the golf tourney’s opening ceremony that Golfing has contributed over $500 million investment in Kaduna.
Expressing his happiness at hosting the maiden competition, El-Rufai was particularly profuse with praise for Pinnacle Communication investment for their initiative in ensuring that golf contributed immensely to the economy of the state.
“We introduced the Kadinvest Golf Tournament to attract investors. This is paying off and I personally thank our sponsor, Sir Lucky Omoluwa of Pinnacle Communications, a man I usually refer to as our son, even though he is from Delta State,” observed the Kaduna State governor at the ceremony yesterday”
The Club Chairman, Col. Ibrahim Biu and BOT Chair, Emir of Birnin Gwari, Mallam Maigwari along with other eminent personalities later had a closed session meeting with the Governor after the golf tourney’s opening ceremony.
The Kaduna Golf Club was also renamed after Pinnacle Communications Chairman, “Sir Lucky Omorodion Omoluwa” as a mark of honour.
