World heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua has been honoured with an OBE medal in the Queen’s Birthday party by Queen Elizabeth II
The Queen was in recognition of Joshua’s services to boxing in the UK as he currently holds the WBA, IBF and WBO titles after winning his March unification clash with Joseph Parker.
The 28-year-old had received the MBE honour also in 2013 after winning an Olympic gold medal at the London 2012 games where he announced himself to the boxing world.
Joshua is scheduled to fight Russian boxer, Alexander Povetkin as mandated by the WBO should his much talked about undisputed unification bout with Deontay Wilder fails to yield positive talks.
Joshua is insisting on a more realistic negotiations from Wilder’s camp be met before he will accept any challenge from the Bronze Bomber.
