Super Eagles striker, Junior Ajayi‘s provided two beautiful assists that helped his Egyptian club, Al Alhy, to defeat Dakhleya and advance to the last eight of Egypt Cup.
The visitors were obviously gunning for early goals as they put up a fierce attack threat against the Egyptian League title holders but were not able to convert their efforts.
Al Alhy took commanding possessions from the visitors after the first 15 minutes and could have taken the lead when Mido Gaber tried to chip the ball over Dakhleya’s goalkeeper after a solo effort but ended up playing the ball wide.
With both sides failing to convert their chances, the first half ended goalless but with Al Alhy having more threatening chances.
El-Sulaya finally broke the deadlock 28th minute into the second half after he was played through by Junior Ajayi to give the Red Devils the lead.
With seven minutes to the end of the game, Ajayi was again involved in the second goal as he played a quick exchange with Islam Mohareb who skipped past two defenders to double the lead for Al Alhy as the game went ahead to end 2-0.
Al Alhy will play Assiouty Sport in the quarter-final of the Egyptian Cup.
