With Italy not playing in the Russia 2018 World Cup, Italian Serie A club, AS Roma said they will throw their weight behind the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The UEFA Champions League semi-finalists in a tweet posted “good luck to the squad at the @FIFAWorldCup in Russia.
“Italy won’t be there, so #ASRoma will be supporting our own players and the #SuperEagles – #ForzaSuperEagles.”
Two Nigeria players Nura Abdullahi and Unar Sadiq play for Roma but were not included in Gernot Rohr’s 30-man provisional squad list submitted last week.
Abdullahi spent last season on loan at Italian rivals Perugia while Sadiq was at Dutch side, NAC Breda.
