Confederation of African Football (CAF) aims to develop children education, which it has already started in Egypt.
CAF president, Ahmad Ahmad made this known while addressing reporters during the launching of the CAF Ramadan Cup 2018 press conference in Egypt.
The African football seasons 2018/2019 themed “Education”, seeks to raise awareness throughout its tournaments and events.
Its objective is to deliver a sporting, educational, cultural, social and life-long experience to the children across the African continent.
The tournament aims to celebrate Africa, build closer ties, raise awareness, and participation in the spirit of solidarity and charity during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Ahmad, the project has started in Egypt and it will move to other African countries to help children education.
Football will also serve as a tool to promote a good way of life in Africa.
“Today is the official launching of this project, and we will follow this campaign and assess it.
“This project starts in Egypt and will move to other African countries.
“We won’t proceed in the project without guaranteeing maximum profits. In Africa, all children should have this privilege, not only those in schools.
“We will reach children in all parts of Africa and help them to come to our training centres. There are numerous centres in the continent to help children education.
“We will move maybe somehow slowly but will have stakeholders to help CAF financially in building new schools. Football can be a tool to help to promote a good way of life on the continent.”
Also speaking on the possibility of Morocco winning the 2026 World Cup bid, he said, “We will help Morocco’s bid by all means and this is obvious. We hope all media support Morocco’s bid too.
“Regarding 2018 as you know we are helping African teams in their preparations and we wish them the best of luck,” he stated.
The CAF Ramadan Cup will be a friendly seven-a-side football match for U-15 (boys and girls) from different African nationalities.
The event will be held on Sunday, 03 June 2018 at Mövenpick hotel – Media City, 6th of October City in the Egyptian capital Cairo.
