German club, Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Moroccan player, Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid on a two-year loan deal.
The defender was part of the Moroccan squad at the Russia 2018 World Cup where the Atlas Lions exited the tournament in the group stage.
Hakimi graduated from Real Madrid’s academy and made nine appearances for the Spanish giants last season and played two Champions League games.
Dortmund in a statement from the club website described the 19-year-old as a young, dynamic fullback who has played at a very highest level with Real Madrid and will be part of the squad for the 2018-2019 Bundesliga campaign.
Hakimi is the sixth player to join the club in this summer’s transfer as the new manager, Lucien Favre hopes to overhaul his squad for next season.
He will join the Dortmund squad during the US pre-season tour between July 18-26.
