The Egyptian Football Association said its set to open talks with Egypt’s national team coach, Hector Cuper over a new contract.
The 62-year-old Argentine tactician has been pivotal in the resurfacing of the Pharoahs since his appointment in March 2015, guiding them to 20 wins, four draws and six losses.
He guided Egypt back to Africa Nations cup after a seven years hiatus in 2017 as they lost to Cameroon in the finals.
Egyptian FA president, Hany Abou-Rida said the Argentine impeccable achievement is the reason why they want to extend his contract which was to expire after the World Cup.
Egypt are drawn in Group A alongside host nation Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia.
