Chelsea Ladies won their second Women’s FA Cup as they beat city rivals, Arsenal 3-1 at the Wembley Stadium, Saturday.
It was Ramona Bachmann’s brace that brought the game to life in the second half, putting the Blues in control.
Vivianne Miedema’s low finish pulled one back for Arsenal as she tucked the ball in after a good pass from Beth Mead, but Fran Kirby who has had a remarkable season, winning both the PFA and FWA gave a curling shot to restore Chelsea’s two-goal lead.
The Gunners, playing in their 16th final, were unable to provide any response.
Chelsea’s victory kept alive their hopes of a domestic double, with four more games remaining of the Women’s Super League One season and only goal difference separating them and leaders Manchester City.
Arsenal who has had a record of 14 wins from 16 FA Cup final appearances were unable to increase their dominance.
