FIBA Opens Media Accreditation For Lagos World Cup Qualifiers

The Federation of International Basketball Associations (FIBA) has announced the commencement of media accreditation process for the third window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 qualifiers.

According to FIBA’s Communications Director, Patrick Koller, the process which started on Monday, May 28 will end on Monday, June 25.

Local and international media representatives wishing to cover the Group B qualifiers to be hosted in Lagos, Nigeria should apply for accreditation online, through the FIBA Media Portal.

Journalists who have not previously registered with the Portal will need to create a profile before completing their application while accreditation procedures for Broadcast Partners (Rights-Holders) and Host Broadcasters will be communicated separately by FIBA Media.

Media credentials will be awarded on the basis of the professional history of the applying media, relevance to the event and basketball in general, as well as space availability at the venues.

In line with FIBA standard, the host National Federation will be responsible for the delivery of the accreditation decisions and distribution of badges for any home game.
