Ghana has announced the approval of N28.8b budget for the hosting of the 2018 Africa Women’s Nations Cup.
The budget is to cater for renovation works at the Accra Sports Stadium, training pitches at El Wak and the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast which are likely venues for the competition.
The tournament will be the 13th edition of the Africa Women Nations Cup, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the women’s national teams of Africa.
Ghana’s Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah while speaking with the Press in Accra recently disclosed that the government has approved the said amount for the success of the 2018 Women World Cup.
His words, “His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has approved an amount of N28.8b for the hosting of the 2018 Africa Women’s Championship,”
That will be used for the renovation of the stadia and other training facilities to be used for the tournament.”
The tournament will be held from 17 November to 1 December in Ghana
