Dembele was signed by Barca after the departure of Brazillian Superstar, Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain but the French international has failed to make a mark in the club since his arrival.

Injuries might have contributed to his poor form in Barcelona but the club is not going to hold on for too long and has brought in a player who plays the same position and almost the same style.

Malcom and Dembele have many things in common including year of birth, 1997 but the main difference is the cost of transfer between both players.

Malcom was signed for just €41m while it cost Barcelona €105m to capture Dembele from Borussia Dortmund as now the Catalans are counting their losses because he has failed to deliver.

The club is now willing to accept a reasonable offer from any better suitor who wants the French player as he also failed to impress at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

The other alternative will be for Ernesto Valverde to keep him in the club and have two great youngsters in his squad but certainly, Malcom could have the upper hand following his impressive season with Bordeaux.

Malcom is now having time to impress Valverde because he did not participate in the World Cup while Dembele who was part of the victorious France team is still enjoying his holiday.

It seems he is also not ready to remain in the club as he confirmed in an interview he said, “Yes, Arsenal are a big Club. They have an interesting project for young players and I think the Europa League could be a good experience for someone young like me.” He practically confirmed Arsenal’s interest.

Arsenal have been reported to be in touch with Barcelona to sign Dembele as he has also started following Arsenal on social media.
