Ex-Ghana FA vice capo, George Afriyie has warned Kwesi Nyantakyi not to seek a fourth term in office in 2019.
Afriyie who is also an aspirant insists he is the right man to succeed the CAF vice-president and FIFA council member, thereby warning his former boss not to bow to the undue pressure to seek re-election.
Nyantakyi who has the support of the CAF president, Dr. Ahmad Ahmad, and other Ghana FA members to seek re-election for 2019 has been the president of the Football Association since 2005 and his current tenure will expire in 2019.
“People should not deceive him. He will lose the elections. He has become unpopular. He does not have the public support. You may win with 123 delegated but when you don’t have the support of over 23 million Ghanaian people, then there is a big problem,” Afriye said
“It’s an election and can also be deceived but I will contest whether he re-contest or not.
“I am very optimistic and so we should wait.”
