Former Chelsea player and Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba has said that Lionel Messi could become the greatest legendary player ever known if he wins the World Cup this summer.
Drogba who was in Colombia as a Monegasque association peace and sports ambassador recently noted that the Argentine captain could eclipse the achievements of Diego Maradona and Pele if he caps his extra ordinary achievements so far with the worlds most prized football diadem at the Russia 2018 World Cup.
“Messi could stop his career now and still be considered to have done a lot for football. Winning the World Cup, no doubt would be an icing on the cake for someone who I think has been extra ordinary so far. Messi could be a legend”
“If the Argentine striker FC Barcelona is not already at the height of Maradona and Pele, it is not far, not very far at all,” Didier Drogba said
The Ivorian striker shared his experience, exchanged a few bullets and even danced with young people from several parts of Colombia and the poor neighborhoods of Cartagena de Indias, a seaside city on the Caribbean coast and the most unequal city in the world. A country torn apart by more than half a century of armed conflict.
