Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi has returned from his World Cup break to join with the rest of the team as they prepare for next season.
Messi who had an awful outing at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, scoring just one goal against Nigeria in the last group game before they were eliminated from the round of 16 by eventual winners, France, will begin his pre-season work alongside Spain trio of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique.
The other team players are in the United States for their pre-season tour where they will play AS Roma in the International Champions Cup while Messi and the other three players who resumed on Monday will begin their training at Sant Joan Despi.
The club confirmed that the four players will clock in at 09:00 CET at the club’s braining facilities, where they will undergo rigorous medical tests.
In the evening, at 18:30 CET, they will start physical work in a closed-door training session.
The Argentine superstar could be in action for the Catalans in their Supercopa de Espana game against Sevilla on August 12 in Morocco.
