Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri says there is more work for the team to do both physically and tactically before they fully understand his style.
The Blues were beaten by Manchester City at Wembley in the Community Shield on Sunday with Sergio Aguero scoring a brace to set a club record as first City player reach the landmark.
Sarri who replaced Antonio Conte in a post-match conference said, “At this moment there is a little difference, maybe not little, between us and City.
“The performance in the first half I think was not too bad. in the second half, there was a big difference from the physical point of view. So we have to work. Our pre-season until now has been a bit crazy, so we have to work.
“I don’t know how long it will take. I arrived here three weeks ago, and at the moment I haven’t seen six players, so it’s very difficult. It depends on me; it depends on the players. Sometimes the work has been very long, sometimes not. In Naples, we had difficulties for three or four matches, but the season started at the beginning of July in Naples.’
“Some things, but not too many. We have the idea to press. Sometimes we press in the right way, and sometimes not. We have the idea to be in control of the match, but we were not in control of the match, so I think we have to work for a long time.”
He, however, said he will return to the training ground with the players and prepare ahead of their remaining pre-season games before the league finally kicks off this weekend.
