Nigeria’s Marathon Couple Shine In Kenya Dominated Okpekpe Race

Kenya continued its dominance of the yearly Okpekpe road race as athletes from the East African country carted away the top three medals in the men’s category.

However, Nigeria’s marathon couple, Emmanuel Gyan and Deborah Pam lived up to their promise to win as they recorded victories in the Nigeria elite male and female athletes category.

Kibet Alex ran 29minutes.46 seconds to win gold, Simon Cheprat came second in 30.29 minutes while Ronoh Timothy Kiplagat finished in the third position.

In the women’s category, Yami Dera Dida of Ethiopia emerged winner with 33 minutes 01 seconds, Sandra Chebet of Kenya finished second, clocking 33minutes 33 seconds as Kipyokei Diana Chemtai crossed the finish in 34:24secs

Apart from the 1million star prize, Pam also finished 7th overall to cart away, 1,500 dollars.
