El-Kanemi suffered a 1-0 loss in their last game before the World Cup break to MFM FC at the Agege stadium and will travel to the Sani Abacha stadium July 18th for their Matchday 25 game against Kano Pillars.

The club through its media officer, Prince Obaseki Anthony in an exclusive interview with hotsportstv.com, thanked the Borno State governor for his continuous support for the club as players have already resumed in preparation for the tie.

He said, “The players have already resumed and we will commence our first training on Wednesday before hitting Kano State on Saturday ahead of the match”

“Coach Imama Amakapabo arrived Maiduguri today and he is beaming with confidence and eager to resume duty ahead of the game”

Responding to the team’s current position on the league table, Obaseki said, “All hope is not lost yet. Football is a game of numbers. We have seven home and away games to play before the end of the season and we can still reach the top”

“Our seven home games victories is non-negotiable by the grace of God and our seven away games, we are targeting three or four outright wins”

“Kano Pillars are aware anytime we play against them, it’s always a tough match and we are hoping to get a point from them as we are fully prepared for the remaining games of this season,” he added.
