UEFA Fine Besiktas For Letting Cat Interrupt Match

European football governing body, UEFA has charged Besiktas £30,000 after a cat entered the pitch during their round of 16 Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

UEFA in a statement also penalized the Turkish club’s as their supporters’ threw objects and blocked the stairways at the Vodafone Park in Istanbul.

England referee, Michael Oliver was said to have paused the game when the cat sneaked into the pitch in the second half of the game, before the pet later found its way out of the pitch for the game to continue.

Bayern Munich was also handed a fine of £22,000 for a separate incident in their semi-final clash with Real Madrid after a fan invaded the pitch and an illicit banner was held up in the stands.
