Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr said the team will play more collectively against Croatia when both sides clash in their Russia 2018 World Cup group D opener on Saturday.
Rohr stated this on Wednesday in his first official press conference for the World Cup at the Super Eagles’ camp in Essentuki.
He said, “We admire Croatia, but we do not plan to watch them when we play against them, we hope to fight. They are all wonderful players playing in biggest teams in Europe”
On paper with their names, Croatia are much better than us but sometimes on the pitch, it could be different”
“We don’t have their big stars, but we will try to play collectively with our young team,” he added.
Super Eagles are the lowest ranked team in group D in the June FIFA Coca-Cola rankings, but Rohr is upbeat his lads can pull the greatest shocker in the Russia 2018 World Cup relying on their youthfulness as the youngest team in the tournament.
