Nigerian representative, Lobi Stars were handed a tough group stage draws for the 2018/2019 Total CAF Champions League.
Lobi returned to continental competition after they were crowned as champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the abrupt 2017/2018 season and won all their preliminary games to reach the money-spinning group stage.
The draws for group stage which was held at Cairo in Egypt pitched Lobi in Group A alongside 2017 champions, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, 2016 champions, Mamelodi Sundown of South Africa and Ivorian giant, ASEC Mimosas.
Wydad and Mamelodi will be meeting for a third consecutive time in the CAF Champions League having also met last season.
Defending champions, Esperance of Tunisia who were excused from the qualifier due to the FIFA Club World Cup held in UAE where they finished 5th, will play Horoya of Guinea, Orlando Pirates of South Africa and FC Platinum of Zimbabwe in Group B.
Two Algerian clubs CS Constatinois and Ismaily will meet each other alongside Club Africain of Tunisia and TP Mazembe of DR Congo in Group C.
Group D has All Alhy of Egypt who were runner-up last season, Simba SC of Tanzania, JS Saoura of Algeria and AS Vita of DR Congo.
