Barely six months to the 2019 African Nations Cup, CAF has confirmed that Cameroon will no longer host the tournament.
CAF met with the Cameroonian Football Association on Friday and after inspecting the facilities on the ground and the level of preparedness, decided that they can no longer host the tournament come 2019.
There have been delays from Cameroon and after the Russia 2018 World Cup, CAF president Ahmad Ahmad assured the country they will host the tournament.
However, CAF have not announced the country that will host the tournament, but Morocco could be handed the hosting right having failed in their bid to host the 2026 World Cup.
The 2019 AFCON was extended with 24 teams competing for the title and that could also make CAF tinker with a joint hosting by two neighbouring countries with North African countries in best positions also be awarded the hosting right.
