Again, Super Eagles Slip In FIFA World Ranking, Maintain Position In Africa

Super Eagles slipped from their 44th position in the world to 46th in 2019’s first FIFA/Coca-Cola ranking released on Thursday but retained its 4th place in Africa.

The Nigeria team in the last ranking released December 20, 2018, were ranked 4th in Africa behind Senegal, Tunisia, and Morocco who also maintained their December raking respectively this year but now 46 in the world as they relinquishing their position to the Czech Republic

Super Eagles who have already booked their ticket to this year’s Africa Nations Cup to be hosted by Egypt will play their last group game against Seychelles next month and also engage Egypt in an international friendly game.

According to a statement on FIFA official website, newly crowned Asian champions Qatar have climbed to 55th in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, gaining 38 places – and reaching their best position since 1993 – on the back of their stunning success in UAE.

The next FIFA ranking will be published on April 4.
