Aisha Falode Recognises Late Deji Tinubu’s Role in Women Championship Shield

The Chairperson of the Nigerian Women Football Professional League, (NWFL) Aishat Falode has acknowledged the role of the late former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Deji Tinubu, in getting the state to sponsor the NWFL Champions Shield.

Aishat Falode, while speaking with journalists, recently in Lagos,  also assured the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode that the NWFL will organise a successful Champions Shield come March 4 and that the organizers are working round the clock to ensure a hitch free event.

The NWFL boss, further thanked Lagos State’s current Sports Commission boss, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, for his relentless assistance to the NWFL, adding,  that the deal actually started when the Late Tinubu was a Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

Lagos State is hosting the maiden edition of the competition, which will pitch Aiteo Cup champions, Rivers Angels, against NWFL Super Four queens, Nasarawa Amazons, in a battle to determine Nigeria’s best female football club.
