Alonso’s Managerial Career Off To A Bright Start With Madrid U-13 Team

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso is delighted his managerial career is off to a successful start after he guided Real Madrid U-13 to win the league title on Wednesday.

Alonso who retired as a player in 2017, immediately took up a coaching course and after securing his coaching badge, was appointed as the U-13 team coach in September 2018.

Real Madrid U-13 defeated Adarve away to wrap up the league title with three games to spare. Xabi Alonso has won his first trophy as a manager after his Real Madrid U13 side won the league title.

Speaking in an interview after guiding the team to success the former Bayern Munich player said, “The ones that deserve it is them [the players]. They’re the ones that are on the pitch and fight, play, know how to suffer, and have made us enjoy it very much.

“Generally speaking it’s been a very positive, very good season. I believe the kids have been very mature, they’re learning many things and at this stage, that’s what it’s about.’
