Arsenal women beat Manchester City ladies to win their first trophy since 2016 in the Continental Tyres Cup finals at Adams Park, Wednesday night.
The win seemed to avenge defeats handed their male counterparts when the Premier League teams clashed in the Carabao Cup recently.
Arsenal won the continental Tyres Cup for a record fifth time as they denied favorites Manchester ladies the golden chance.
Arsenal ladies dominated in the first part of the game, while City were all over the pitch in the second half but couldn’t score a single a goal.
Arsenal heroic and committed defender, Vivian Miedema’s lone strike was pivotal in steering the female Gunners to a famous win.
City went close through, Nkita Parris which was later substituted by Jane Ross after half-time, but couldn’t still equalize.
