Nigeria Super Falcons were thrilled to a lively welcome at the Kotoka International Airport in Ghana when they arrived the country ahead of the 11th edition of the African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The eight-time champions who camped in Abidjan for eight days at the Sol Beni Sports Centre flew to Ghana via an Emirates Airline flight from Abidjan on Wednesday to meet a live band welcoming them to Ghana.
A video on the official Twitter account of the Super Falcons saw three-time African Women’s player of the year, Asisat Oshoala leading displaying her dancing skill alongside other members of the squad as they danced to the live music at the Kotoka International Airport.

The Nigeria contingent is made up of 21 players and 12 officials who will be staying at the Cape Coast venue for all their Group B games
According to a statement on NFF official website, the chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League and member of the NFF Executive Committee, Ms. Aisha Falode will join the team on Friday.
Nigeria will begin their title defence against South Africa on Sunday, November 18 before playing against Zambia in the second group game while Equatorial Guinea will be their last opponents.
The top three finalists will represent the continent in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup to be hosted in France.
