Spanish giants, Barcelona has announced that the team will wear a unique jersey in commemoration of the Chinese New Year which is being celebrated this week in their Copa del Rey semi-final clash against arch-rival, Real Madrid.

A statement on the club official website reads, “This action is added to the video of congratulation for the Chinese New Year that was made by the Club and released this Monday, with the participation of first-team players Leo Messi, Gerard Piqué, Marc-André ter Stegen and Samuel Umtiti.
Also known as the Spring Festival, this traditional festival is the most important of the year in the Chinese calendar, which in 2019 marks the Year of the Pig. Real Madrid will be hoping to redeem their image following their awful 5-1 loss to Barcelona in October 2018 in their first league meeting that led to the sack of Julen Lopetegui and with Barcelona almost running away with the league title this season, the Los Blancos will be hoping to avenge the loss under new coach, Santiago Solari.
