German Bundesliga Champions, Bayern Munich seems to have taken the anger of their last week’s UEFA Champions league ouster on Mainz at Bayers Allianz Arena home ground on Sunday when they trashed the visitors 6-nil in a Bundesliga match that returned Bayern Munich to top of the table.
It was Polish Star, Robert Lewandowski, who opened the floodgate in the 3rd minute with his 18th league goal of the season with a cross from David Alaba.
His exploit was followed by 27-year-old Columbian mid-fielder and Real Madrid loanee, James Rodriguez, who scored the second goal off a Leon Goretzka assist while Frenchman, Kingsley Coman scored with a shot that sent chills down the spine of Mainz goalkeeper, just six minutes before half time
James Rodriguez completed his hat-trick in the second half with two more goals in four minutes while Canadian youngster, Alphonso Davies, scored the sixth and his first Bundesliga goal, courtesy of a rebound from Lewandowski’s shot, just 11 minutes after coming into the pitch.
Bayern currently stands at the top of the table with 17 goals scored in three league matches and 13 matches won out of their last 14 matches in the Bundesliga.
