Rangers manager, Gbenga Ogunbote has vowed that the team will bounce back and qualify to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Rangers were stunned 2-0 by Etoile du Sahel in the Matchday 4 Group B game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.
The loss which was their second defeat so far since the qualifier stage of the continental competition has thus put the Flying Antelopes hope of exceeding the group stage on the brink.
Goals in both halves scored by Hannachi Maher and Mohamed Msakni slipped Rangers to third place in the group.
Ogunbote in a post-match interview rue the lost and also blamed injuries to two of his players Ifeanyi George and Bobby Clement and the suspension of Semiu Liadi as what also affected the team performance.
“It is a big loss that we did not see coming.
“We apologize for this loss and hope to make amends in the remaining matches of the competition. No doubt, the absence of four regular starters was felt in today’s match.”
The Flying Antelopes next game will be against Salitas of Burkina-Faso in Ouagadougou on March 10 before hosting C.S Sfaxien in Enugu in their last group game.
