Niger 2019 Qualifiers: CAF Exempt Flying Eagles

Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has exempted the Flying Eagles of Nigeria and eleven other countries for the first round fixtures of the Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Niger 2019 Qualifiers.

The twelve teams exempted are the teams who qualified to the final tournament of the last two editions in addition to the four teams who reached the last round of the qualifiers of the last edition.

The other exempted countries are Angola, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Cote D’ Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Egypt, Libya, Mali, Senegal, Sudan, South Africa and Zambia.

The draws for the qualifiers was made available on the official CAF website, with the first round matches to be played March 30th, 31st and April 1st while the return legs come up two weeks later.

Second round hostilities begin on second week of May while all return legs will be prosecuted on 18, 19 and 20 May.

July 13th, 14th and 15th is slated for the third round as the final legs will be played on 20th, 21st and 22nd before the final draws of the qualifiers will be made.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria has won the Africa U-20 Africa Nations Cup for a record of seven times with their last victory coming in 2015.
