Chelsea humiliated Dynamo Kiev 5-0 at the Stadion NSK Olimpiyskiy to cruise into the quarterfinal of the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Blues had defeated the Ukranian team, 3-0 in the first leg at Stamford Bridge last week, progressing to the last eight on 8-0 aggregate.
It was a perfect night for Chelsea forward, Oliver Giroud, who scored a hat trick as Marcos Alonso and Calum Hodson-Odoi also score to complete the routing.
Giroud scored with his left foot, right foot and a header to become the first player to score a perfect hat trick in the competition this season.
He is also the highest goalscorer so far with eight goals in seven appearances.
Chelsea is struggling to enter the top four in the Premier League this season and hoping to leverage on winning the Europa League title so as to play in the Champions League next season.
The draws for the quarter-final of the Europa League will be held on Friday at the UEFA headquarters, Neon Switzerland.
