Nigerian international Kenneth Omeruo may be given a second chance by Antonio Conte to prove a point at Chelsea ahead of the 2017/2018 football league season.
This was recently confirmed as the Super Eagles defender made the list published on the club’s official website by the Italian ahead of their Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Crawley Town.
Omeruo who was signed from Standard Liege in January 2012, was immediately loaned to Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag on an 18-month loan deal which kept him at the club until the end of the 2012–13 season.
On his return, he joined Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the 2015 season where he made 33 league appearances as he continued his development.
He was not deemed good enough for the Chelsea team which saw him embark on another season-long loan to Kasımpaşa with an option to purchase the player at the end of the spell.
But his time to stake a claim for a shirt could be now as he was listed among the six defenders heading to West Sussex and may be given a chance alongside other fringe players who are eager to kick start their Stamford Bridge adventure.
The 23 year old whose last loan adventure was with Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super League may be in line to play his first match for the 2016 English Premier League champions.
