English Football Association chairman Clarke said they will respect the rotation of World Cup hosting Confederation and will not step in to host the 2022 edition since Qatar have already won the hosting right.
Former FA chairman, Lord Triesman had said that Qatar be stripped of hosting the 2022 World Cup after Sunday Times published a report that the Qatar team employed a propaganda to sabotage rival countries.
Clarke however dismissed the call insisting that since Qatar refuted the allegations there is no need to push to change the status quo believing that 2030 will be their turn to bid.
He said, “FiIFA has chosen Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup and they have a duty to investigate any issues around the process that are rightly thrown into question.
“Russia did a brilliant job hosting the 2018 World Cup and we support the rotation of World Cup hosting around confederations. That would make the 2030 World Cup the next one a European nation might be able to host and not before.
“Anyone suggesting otherwise is acting disrespectfully to our global game, and does not speak for the English FA.”
