Europa League: Arsenal, Chelsea Maintain Unbeaten Run In Group Stage

Chelsea and Arsenal maintained their unbeaten streak in the Europa League to finish top in their groups after the last group games on Thursday night across Europe.

The Gunners continued their unbeaten streak in all competitions following a 1-0 victory against Qarabag at the Emirates Stadium.

With Laurent Koscielny making a return to the squad after seven months,  it was another French player,  Alexander Lacazette who scored the lone goal for Unai Emery side.

Chelsea failed to finish strong as they were held to a 2-2 draw by FC Vidi with Olivier Giroud scoring a stunning freekick after the Blues gave away their lead to trail from behind.

Willian gave Chelsea the lead after 30 minutes, but an own goal from Ethan Ampadu and a further from Loic Nego put the home side 2-1 up before Giroud came off the bench to save Chelsea from another dismal away defeat.

Sevilla booked their spot in the next round of the competition after thrashing Krasnodar 3-0 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Wissam Ben Yedder netted a quick-fire brace to put the hosts 2-0 up inside the opening 10 minutes before Ever Banega converted a penalty after the break to make it 3-0.

The win sees the LaLiga outfit move to the top spot in Group J, while Krasnodar ends the group in the second spot.
