FA Approve Display Of VAR Decisions On Big Screen Ahead FA Cup Semis

In order to bring clarity and transparency to the use of the Video assistant referee system (VAR) in the FA Cup semi-finals, the English FA has approved the display of decisions made by the hawk-eye technology to fans in the Stadium.

Club supporters have questioned some decisions by VAR in some games as officials only approach the side screen, them make a decision without carrying the supporters along.

The Football Association in a move to answer those questions said it would provide “clarity” and “transparency” for those in attendance.

The FA director of professional game relations, Andy Amber in a statement said, “The FA Cup has been at the forefront VAR testing process in England and this is the next step in its development,”

Recall that replays of incidents reviewed by VAR were shown on big screens at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The semi-final of the FA Cup will be played this weekend with Manchester City to play against Brighton on Saturday before Watford plays Wolves on Sunday.
