Antoine Griezmann has turned down a move to Manchester United as he agrees an £88million deal to join Barcelona.
The 27-year-old was one of Jose Mourinho’s top summer targets as the Portuguese looks to build a side capable of taking the title away from soon-to-be champions Manchester City, according to sources.
National team-mate Ousmane Dembele would likely compete for a place at Barca with him.
Barcelona are long-term admirers of Griezmann despite their current wealth of attacking options with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.
Atletico are second to Barcelona in La Liga this season after a poor domestic showing from Real Madrid but Griezmann’s reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting talents means he will be in demand ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
