Koeman Snatches Super Eagles’ Snub, Danjuma, Set To Cap Him For Holland

Arnaut Danjuma-Super Eagles-Nigeria-Netherland

Nigeria’s failure to move swiftly to commit Club Brugge’s forward,  Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld to pledge his allegiance to the Super Eagles has now turned out to be the gain of the Dutch national team, hotsportstv.com has authoritatively revealed.

Danjuma, 21 was born in Lagos to a Dutch father and Nigerian mother and was eligible to play for both countries despite representing the Netherland U-21 team four times.

Rohr had in last year confirmed that Arnaut Danjuma will play for Nigeria after he also lured Tyrone Ebuehi to switch allegiance to Nigeria.

In February this year, Arnaut Danjuma dumped his Dutch name in preference for his Nigerian name,  Danjuma’ which was a clear indication he was ready to switch allegiance to Nigeria but it seemed the NFF and the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr was not pushing hard enough to secure his services.

Well, the Netherlands were never going to let go such a lifetime opportunity to get one of football’s promising stars to the colours of Oranje of Holland.

Netherlands’s coach, Ronald Koeman last week listed Danjuma in the Oranje squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League game against Germany on October 13.

The forward who joined Club Brugge  from NAC Breda  this summer has played 10 games and scored five goals for his club including a fantastic goal against Atletico Madrid in their Champions League game last Wednesday.

Danjuma who is making his Champions League debut this season joined PSV Eindhoven in 2008  from FC OSS. He made his professional debut for Jong PSV in the second division in 2015.
