Monaco Sack Jardim, Pave Way For Henry’s Take Over

French Ligue 1 club, Monaco has axed their coach, Leonardo Jardim following a poor run of results this season.

Jardim who joined Monaco from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 guided the club to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2016-2017 season and also the Coupe D France final where they lost to PSG in 2017.

The Venezuelan who signed a contract extension with the club till 2020 has failed to guide the club in the right path as they continuously struggled in the league winning just one game out of nine and are currently in 18th position.

The sacking now paves the way for former Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry to return, this time, as manager of the club where he started his football career.

Henry turned down an offer from Championship club, Aston Villa to take over the vacant managerial seat following the sacking of Steve Bruce.

Henry, however, is currently with the Belgian national team ahead of their game against the Netherlands on Tuesday next week.
