Two top rated tennis duo, Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro have been ruled out of the Miami Open which will begin on Wednesday due to injury.
Nadal, who competed in the just-concluded Indian Wells tournament, withdrew from the semi-final against Roger Federer, who eventually lost to Dominic Thiem on Sunday.
The Spaniard has been confirmed to have suffered a right knee injury and he is expected to return for the Rolex Monte- Carlo Masters which will begin April 15.
It will be the season’s first clay-court ATP Masters 1000 tournament, which Nadal has won 11 times.
Del Potro who also missed the BNP Paribas Open, where he won the 2018 title for his first Masters 1000 defeating Federer also will not be available for the Miami Open after he fractured his right patella at the Rolex Shanghai Masters last October and is still on rehab.
