Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer is back to training with the team for the first time in over half a year.
Neuer has been sidelined since September after suffering a hairline fracture in his foot for the second time in six months.
The Bayern Munich captain completed a goalkeeper-specific training session on Thursday morning with the team.
In a picture on the club’s website on Thursday, the goalkeeper was seen practicing his handling and general goalkeeping skills as he near a comeback.
He had earlier this week provided an update on his injury progress in an interview. He said; “I know things are coming along very well, but of course there’s still time until I’ll be full strength. I can’t say right now exactly how long that’s going to be. I’m currently at around 80 per cent of my body weight at five km/h on the treadmill and that’s going up all the time”, he told Skysports.
Neuer`s return could be a boost to Bayern Munich in their Champions League campaign this season with the Bavarian aiming to lift the trophy after they last won it in the 2012- 2013 season when they defeated strong rivals, Borrusia Dortmund 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium.
