Nigeria are now fifth in Africa in the latest world rankings released by world football governing body FIFA.

Super Eagles 2-0 home loss to South Africa cost them to lose one spot as they dropped down to 39th from last month’s ranking of 38th and 4th in Africa.

In Africa the Eagles are now 5th in Africa with Egypt still on top as Africa’s number one followed by Senegal, Congo DR, Tunisia and Cameroon completing the top five.

Burkina Faso, Algeria, Ghana and Cote d Ivoire and Mali complete the top ten ranked nations in Africa in the FIFA rankings for July.
