NPFL Matchday 6 Wrap Up: Abia Warriors End FC IfeanyiUbah Unbeaten Run In Oriental Derby

FC Ifeanyi Ubah unbeaten run in the 2019 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) came to an end as they were stunned 1-2 by visiting Abia Warriors in Nnewi on Sunday in the Matchday 6 game.

FC IfeanyiUbah who have not lost any of their previous five games took the lead through Emmanuel Ugwuka just three minutes to the game to hand the home team a perfect start before Samson Obi levelled for the visitors in the added time of first half. Shedrack Ashiegbu’s 59th-minute goal handed Abia Warriors the needed victory in the Oriental derby.

At the Aba Township Stadium, Enyimba defeated visiting Rivers United 2-0 to move up to fourth place in Group A.

A brace from Adamu Hassan in the 2oth and 24th minute and a goal from Chinedu Sunday was all Kano Pillars needed to send visiting Nasarawa United back to Lafia empty-handed at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

At the Agege Stadium in Lagos, MFM FC continued their impressive home record with a 1-0 victory against Wikki Tourists courtesy of a 69th-minute goal scored by Chijioke Akuneto as the Olukoya Boys return to the top of the Group A summit.
