Morocco coach Herve Renard has ruled out Super Eagles as a title favourite for the 2019 Africa Nations Cup to be hosted in Egypt in June.
Renard who has won Africa Cup of Nations title with Zambia and Ivory Coast tipped hosts, Egypt and Senegal as the favourite countries to win the tournament this year.
The Frenchman who is currently Moroccan national team coach also played down the possibility of winning his third AFCON title with the Atlas Lions after he guided them to the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Speaking in an interview Renard said he believes his team will find it difficult going against their fellow Maghrebian country, Egypt should both team meet in the competition.
He said, “It seems that my realism is not liked by many people.
“We should look back at the history and recall Egypt hosting the tournament in 2006. It is very hard for Egypt not to win the title.
“The Senegalese national team also includes the best individual talents on the continent.
“We also have a very strong team, but Egypt and Senegal will always be the strongest candidates.”
