Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to thwart a move by Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez to make peace after their relationship went sour.
Ronaldo departed Madrid to Juventus this summer after financial issues caused him to depart the club while also claiming he was no longer wanted by Perez.
Reports claimed that Ronaldo, as well as Messi, had applied to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for tickets to the final of Copa Libertadores, which takes place on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But with Madrid president’s plan to sit with both great players in the VIP box, Ronaldo may no longer want to honour the invitation due to the fact that Perez will be there. UK Sun Football reported.
Perez had plans to sit Messi and Ronaldo in a presidential box to watch the second leg between River Plate and Boca Juniors.
The first game of the Copa Libertadores ended in a 2-2 draw at Boca Juniors La Bombonera stadium, however, the return tie was showered with unsavoury scenes. River Plate fans attacked Boca Juniors team bus who were travelling to the second leg tie.
The game was postponed on two occasions and later moved to this Sunday with the neutral ground in Madrid being chosen for safety reasons.
