Sergio Ramos has moved to play down speculation that he has fallen out with Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.
There have been rumours of discontent between two of Madrid’s key men since they were defeated 3-1 by Tottenham in the Champions League in November.
Ronaldo publicly outlined the squad’s lack of experience after the match and was said to have riled Ramos.
But Ramos insists there has been no disagreement and the two are friends.
‘Nothing has ever happened between him and me,’ the defender told TVE.
‘There has always been a great friendship between us.
‘We have a lot of personality and have some different opinions, but we’re pulling in the same direction.’
Madrid were held to a 0-0 draw away to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday in La Liga.
Zinedine Zidane’s side are fourth in La Liga with 28 points from 14 matches so far. They trail leaders Barcelona by eight.
They are next in action on Wednesday when they host Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. Defending champions Madrid are already through to the last-16 along with Tottenham.
