The occasion was the celebration of his octogenarian mother, Mrs Fadeke Akinwunmi who turned eighty years old.
Speaking with hotsportstv.com in an exclusive interview Mr Akinwunmi extolled the virtues of his mother whom he described as his role model and selfless human being.
He said, “I have to give thanks to God for her life. Everything i am today is because of this woman.
” She has done so much for me,” he continued, the sacrifice, the training she gave to me, in fact, i cannot recount them all am so happy for she is still this strong despite her age.
Speaking of his mother enviable character the NFF chieftain said, “She has this selfless character that when she decides she wants something not for herself but for somebody else, she doesn’t have to know you before she renders any help.
“Such character is rare and i have learnt that from him and want my children and anybody around me to imbibe.
” You can see the number of people that turned out to celebrate with her. It is a sign of her benevolence and her selfless service to humanity.
NFF president, Amaju Pinnick was present at the celebration alongside other top shots in Nigeria football including the president of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo and that of the Super Eagles Supporters Club, Prince Vincent Okumagba.
Also present was the Chief Executive Officer of HS Media Group, Taye Ige amongst other dignitaries in Nigeria football.
