Odey, who scored 18 goals for MFM FC last season, has signed a four-year contract with FC Zurich, but the switch was not endorsed by FIFA due to late submission of the transfer documentations.

“Such was the frustration was that everybody was now looking at the January transfer window.”

Odey has already impressed in training and friendly matches for the Swiss club and he will now be expected to make his official debut after the international break.

FC Zurich are second on the table with 17 points from 10 matches, six points behind leaders Young Boys.
