Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Sunshine Stars have refused to train due to non-payment of their four-month salary by the Ondo State government.
The players are yet to resume training after their goalless draw against Rivers United in Port Harcourt.
According to an undisclosed source, the players are threatening to abandon their next NPFL game against Nasarawa United scheduled for this weekend in Akure.
Hotsportstv.com also learnt from a source close to the team that even officials are not left out of the no-salary saga.
But the government, reacting through its commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, said the players would soon get their entitlements since the governor has approved the money for the team.
This is not the first time the club will be facing a financial imbroglio. Last year, players were forced to embark on an open protest to get the government to settle their salary arrears.
