Super Eagles defence strongman, William Troost-Ekong is happy with the adequate playing time he is currently enjoying with his new Italian Serial A club side, Udinese.
In an exclusive chat with hotsportstv.com on Monday, in Uyo before leaving for Tunisia for the AFCON qualifier against Libya in Sfax, Ekong said the move to Italy has provided a solid base for the development of his game and his football career.
Ekong, who signed a 2.97 million pounds deal from Turkish side, Bursaspur to Udinese at the start of the new season said he doesn’t take special cognisance of big stars like Christiano Rinaldo in the Italian Series A, in order not to get distracted or carried away.
“I want to always concentrate on improving my game instead of paying special attention to a particular player. I played against Ronaldo barely a week ago, when we lost to Juventus at home, so there’s nothing special. Remember I also played against Messi at the World Cup,” Ekong said.
Two first-half goals from Rodrigo Bentancur and Ronaldo sealed an away victory for Juventus over Ekong’s Udinese, who are currently 15th on the table after eight games, on a Week 8 Serie A fixture played on October 6.
