In what has a semblance of an encore of last season’s UCL quarter-final stage where two Premier League giants; Manchester City and Liverpool went on collision, Manchester City, again has been drawn in the same stage against Tottenham.
Manchester City were eliminated at the quarter-final of the UCL last season by Liverpool and will face the Premier League giant at its Wembley Stadium home before they host Spurs at the Etihad Stadium for the return leg.
In the other draws held at the UEFA headquarter in Nyon, Switzerland, Friday afternoon, Manchester United was handed one of the toughest draws.
The Red Devils who against all odds defeated Paris Saint Germain to book their ticket will play against Barcelona with the first leg coming up at Old Trafford.
Giant killers, Ajax who eliminated champions, Real Madrid from the competition will face Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus while last season finalists, Liverpool will play FC Porto.
The first leg of the quarterfinal will come up April 9, 10 while the return leg is set for 16 and 17 of April.
The semi-final will take place immediately with the final for the 2018-2019 Champions League set to be played on Saturday, June 1, at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
